How this calculator works
This calculator compares the gravity before fermentation with the gravity after fermentation to estimate alcohol, attenuation, extract and serving nutrition.
Use readings from the same gravity scale where possible. If you enter Plato or Brix, the tool first normalizes the reading before calculating the result.
Standard mode is useful for most beers. Advanced mode is better for stronger beers where simple gravity-point shortcuts can drift.
Worth knowing
- Only treat a reading as final once it has stayed stable for a couple of days.
- Correct fermenting refractometer readings before using them as final gravity.
